A bar owner in Georgia has come up with a way to help her employees while their doors are closed. For years, customers have been leaving their mark on The Sand Bar in Tybee Island by writing on a dollar bill and stapling it to the walls or ceiling and ownerJennifer Knoxdecided to take them down and give the money to her staff.
It took five volunteers three and a half days to get the cash down and another week to clean and count it. In total, they collected $3,714 and after some regular customers heard about the act of kindness, they donated to the cause. So Knox was able to split $4,104 between four bartenders and two musicians and they were each given $600.
“We all look out for each other,” Knox says. “We are all in this together.”
