Kelsea Ballerini dropped a surprise announcement on Monday morning (February 13), revealing plans to release a 6-song EP and accompanying short film at midnight. Ballerini posted the track list, a brief trailer and the short film’s artwork on her social media channels.

“six songs. one short film. all rolling up at midnight, valentine’s day,” the award-winning singer-songwriter wrote in her caption as she debuted the Rolling Up The Welcome Mat short film poster. Written and directed by Ballerini, the film already has Instagram users gushing “i am unwell omg this will break me 😭,” “oh so we're crying this v-day okay cool cool cool,” and “Rip my emotional stability,” to name a few. Other country artists — including Megan Moroney, Hannah Ellis, Ashley Cooke and Ballerini’s “HEARTFIRST Tour” mate Georgia Webster — also burst with excitement over what appears to be an emotional project. See the track list below:

  1. Mountain with a View

Rolling Up The Welcome Mat comes a few months after Ballerini’s latest full-length project, Subject To Change, a long-awaited 15-track album that made its debut in September 2022. The collection includes “HEARTFIRST,” “Love Is A Cowboy,” “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too),” “What I Have” and other fan-favorite anthems, many of which were inspired by ‘90s female country. Ballerini said at the time that Subject To Change was a record that tells the story of an era in her life as she looked ahead to what’s next: “here’s my last two years, and here’s the turning of a page.”
