Sam Hunt has no trouble embracing his age.
Sam made a big return to the charts with his new song "23," and in a recent interview with Cody Alan, the "Hard to Forget" singer says that "23" isn't his lucky number. Instead, it's simply a "pivotal" age for most people.
"It's that age between "youth" and the "real world," says Sam. "Where one foot is in the world of "never growing up," and the other foot is in the realization that the "real world is coming at me fast."
"It's a pivotal year," Sam says reflectively. "At least it was for me! Graduating college and trying to figure what I was going to do with my life."
The country singer will be approaching his 37th birthday on December 8th, but does he feel his age?
"It's funny. I think about that sometimes," says the singer. "I wonder sometimes how the career path that I chose has affected my evolution as a person."
"I would say in a lot of ways, I still feel like I am in my twenties, and in other ways, I feel like I am wise beyond my years because of some of the experiences that I have had," laughs Sam. "On balance, I think it comes out to about par."
'23' is Sam's first release since the 2020 album, 'Southside.' Take a listen below.
