Luke Combs delivered the first impression of his upcoming chapter of music with a 3-track collection that arrived on Friday (October 3).
The powerhouse singer-songwriter debuted âMy Kinda Saturday Night,â â15 Minutesâ and âDays Like Theseâ on The Prequel. Combs said âitâs crazy. I just feel like itâs the first time I put music out in quite some time, and Iâm nervous about it. Iâm nervous to see what you guys will think about it. Iâm really confident in these songs that weâve recorded and I know that you guys have been waiting for music for a long time. Iâve just been kind of doing as much as I can, raising the kids⌠Itâs just wild. Itâs just wild. Time flies, and it feels like Iâve been doing this forever and for six months at the same time, if that makes any sense.â
Combs teamed up with songwriters Randy Montana, Jonathan Singleton, Trey Pendley, Rob Pennington, Grant Vogel, Brent Cobb and Aaron Raitiere to bring the songs on The Prequel to life. Combs confirmed The Prequelâs release earlier this week, and said that heâs âstill working on my new album thatâll be out early next year,â but he âcouldnât wait to get yâall some new music.â He also said his 2026 tour will be titled after âMy Kinda Saturday Night,â the first track to appear on The Prequel, and âIâll have more news on that very soon.â
The Prequel is the latest new music to release from Combs since he delivered âBack in the Saddleâ over the summer. Heâs previously stirred anticipation for each of the three tracks on his social media accounts, including when he and his wife, Nicole Combs, used âDays Like Theseâ to announce Baby No. 3 is on the way. Baby No. 3 will join big brothers Tex Lawrence Combs, born in June 2022, and Beau Lee Combs, born in August 2023.
